Having
plastic garden edging is a good way to ensure that your garden is well defined,
that you won’t have soil spilling over and getting on your turf or pathways,
that you garden will be protected from certain kinds of weed, and to make your
garden look better. There are multiple types of edging besides the plastic
garden edging and you can find a small description for each one in this
article. Finding the right type of edging for your garden can be a small fun
part of your garden design project.
The
pine garden edging is the simplest form of edging. It looks good in a
traditional garden. It is usually made up of long straight logs, so it is not
so good for curbs. Although if you wish you can cut the log into smaller pieces
and curve them that way, or alternatively you can but some purpose-made wood
edging, that is specifically sold for people who want to fit it into curves.
There is also the terracotta garden edging. This is harder to come by nowadays,
and it is rather expensive. It is also somewhat fragile, but all this hassle is
worth if you are living in a period home.
Plastic
garden edging is made of PVC. It is very easy to install and you can get it in
a large variety of styles, some of which mimic the texture and look of other
edgings very well. It is a good alternative to the expensive and fragile
terracotta edging. But plastic edging is still not that durable. It can be
easily broken by running over it with the lawn mower, or other accidents. But
if properly taken care of, it will last for a very long time. It is a pretty
good option if you are looking for something cheap that looks good.
