Two Types of Mexican Cookies

There is a huge variety of cookies. From the classic chocolate chip cookies to more exotic types that have names which cannot be uttered in polite company, these small mouth watering snacks are good for events, parties, restaurants and especially waiting for Santa. There are so many types of cookies that there are even subtypes of cookies. For example, there are many different types of Mexican cookies. There are the Mexican wedding cookies, the Mexican Biscocho Cookies, marranitos, cochinos, purquitos and churros. So even though learning to bake cookies is easy, learning to bake all the types of cookies is a task worthy of respect.
Mexican wedding cookies are a delicious traditional type of Mexican cookies. They are made from groundnuts, be it walnuts, pecans or almonds, and shortbread. They are served at anniversaries, on the Christmas holidays, and, as you’ve probably already guessed from the name, at weddings. This recipe has seen many variations around the world. In Sweden and Russia they are known as tea cakes. They are easy to make and the recipe for them is easily found online. So if you have a wedding or some sort of celebration coming up, consider putting Mexican wedding cookies on the menu.
A Mexican Biscocho cookie is another recipe that is very popular in Mexico. This type of Mexican cookies originated in Spain. Biscochos have anise seeds added to them and they are sprinkled with cinnamon. My mouth is watering from just writing that last sentence. Some makers add orange juice or wine to enhance the flavor. They are usually cut using cookie cutters into the shape of a diamond. And it is not unreasonable to eat them while drinking wine. Everybody knows kids love cookies, but Biscochos, well Biscochos are for adults. You can also find this recipe online for free.
