and using every day ingredients, you can make miracles happen. This is a recipe
that was adapted from Everyday Food magazine’s recipe. Make sure to follow the
instructions carefully. So whether you are an amateur cook or a professional
don your apron and let’s make some food.
So the
ingredients for butter pecan cookies are: a ¾ cup of chopped up pecans, half a
cup (or one stick) of unsalted butter that is at room temperature, a third of a
cup of sugar, and a little bit more for the coating, one teaspoon of vanilla
extract, a 1/8 teaspoon of salt and one cup of all-purpose flour. This is a
pretty basic list of ingredients. Make sure you have them handy for the next
step.
Now
onto the method of making butter pecan cookies. First of all, preheat the oven
to 350 degrees. Toast the pecans on a sheet, until you start to smell them.
This shouldn’t take more than six minutes. Let them cool and then chop them up.
Now using an electric mixer cream the butter. After a minute add a 1/3 cup of
sugar and cream, and mix it for one more minute. Now add vanilla, flour and
salt and beat them until the dough starts to form. It is time to add the
pecans. Form 12 pieces and roll them into balls and then roll the balls in
sugar. Place them on a baking sheet, 3 inches apart. Gently flatten them and
then sprinkle them with sugar. Now bake them until they have a golden brown
color. Make sure to rotate the sheet after about 15 minutes. Sprinkle some more
sugar on top, and voila you have made delicious cookies.
