What is Emulsion Paint

Redecorating your house is hard enough, without having to wonder what type of paint to use. And it is understandable if selecting the right type of paint has you stumped. There are a lot of different types of paint, but a basic understanding of what they are and what they are used for can easily be gained. Different types of paint are used for different jobs. For interior painting it is recommended that you use emulsion paint. It is best suited for painting walls and ceilings.
Emulsion paint is made of a mixture of substances that usually do not mix. It’s water based with synthetic particles, water and a pigment mixed in. This type of paint is usually used on walls and ceilings because it sticks very easy and is very durable. It is also a type of paint that can be cleaned. This is a pretty big advantage over other types of paint, because it has all these advantages without being glossy. Other paints need to have a high sheen factor, which makes them glossy, in order to be durable and washable. This means that you can’t really use these types of paints in a bedroom.
Another big advantage to using emulsion paint is that it can be applied to almost any surface you can think of. Whether it is brick you have to paint, or cement, or even papered walls, you can be sure that this type of paint will stick to it. It also comes with a glossy finish if you want the surface you are painting to look that way. As far as colors go you can choose from a very large variety. Or if you want something a little more personalized, you can head on down to your local DYI store and have them mix a custom color for you.
