The Magic of European Soccer

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Almost every country in the world can consider soccer its national sport or at least one of the popular ones. There are some exceptions like the US, but soccer is getting popular there too. Some of the most spectacular sports competition is the World Cup. Every four years, millions of people from around the globe turn on their television and put on their national team’s jersey on and get ready to witness the spectacle that is the World Cup.
But in between world cups, the void that is left is filled with European soccer. The best players from around the world are bought and sold by European teams in an effort to create the ultimate team that will emerge victorious in the national leagues and in the UEFA Championship. This makes European soccer one of the best sports to watch. There is an immense amount of talent concentrated in one place. There is drama, there are spectacles and there is a lot of controversy, but the matches that result from these super-teams clashing is amazing.
European soccer is such an energizing and exciting sport, that it has spawned leagues of fervent supporters, with the most fanatic of them turning into full-on hooligans. They form “firms” that support the teams they adore, and organize fights and vandalism in the towns that their teams play in. A small team could not be that good, but their firm could be top notch, and monopolize the stadium and the streets of the opposing, better team.
But this is just a small part of soccer. It is certainly the sport that combines fast paced action with tactics, planning and patience. It’s not a game about scoring, it’s a game about heart, endurance, team work and planning.
